    Much more colourful than the flowers: The open fruit of Kiggelaria africana offer sticky red morsels in sizes suitable for fruit eating bird bills and a colour always welcome in the garden.

    The closed spherical fruits have a charm of their own, but they don’t resemble peaches one bit. Still, the tree is commonly known as the wild peach (Coates Palgrave, 2002).
