Psychotria capensis subsp. capensis yellow fruit

This dense cluster of unripe Psychotria capensis subsp. capensis fruit were seen in Kirstenbosch during November.

Appearing more globose than ovoid here, there is much size difference among the fruits in the cluster; the more advanced, red ones not the biggest. Some bigger fruit display longitudinal ridges (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Pooley, 1993).
