Erosion of the soil from around the previously underground Raphionacme hirsuta tuber in Muldersdrift grassland in Gauteng, reveals the perennial part that may be short-lived after its mishap.

The tuber has been described as rock-shaped, stone determining part of its bulges (Smith, et al, 2017; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
