There is no privacy in the bush. Everybody is ogled, inspected, assessed, spied upon. Every move and bodily function of every species is of interest. All people are paparazzi in the lives of all other species!

One may spot and identify the southern yellowbilled hornbill on a buffalo thorn branch as it has already done in reciprocation, but miss the snake in the grass or the beastie crawling onto one’s shoe!

The living watches the living, eyes upon eyes, like one network of intrigued, high curiosity life. The size, colour and shape of the observer eye is different every time, viewer intentions shaped per species. Brain capacity limits or twists the processing of information received according to its kind.

Every species has its own range of functional decision outcome categories, determining the behaviour to follow. The selection is usually made from: flight or fight, wait and watch, mate or bite, even eat.

Only people have developed kinky extra categories to choose from including: name it for the record, describe it for knowledge, kill it for fun, sell it from greed or capture it for keeps.

The identity of the most dangerous, most destructive species of all time on earth is not in doubt. It’s not the hornbill.
