These little Drosera trinervia rosettes, each the total above-ground component of an independent plant, may proliferate in the wet season in the sandy and peaty mountain soil. Traffic will do some damage to them along pathways as this up the slopes, without daunting the resilient little reds.

The red surely helps to beckon insects, their food, to have a look and, who knows, the fateful stop-over. Pollinators too will visit in the mainly spring flowering season (www.plantzafrica.com).
