Radinosiphon leptostachya is a pink-flowering Mpumalanga member of the iris family used in horticulture today, maybe not yet as much as it deserves to be.
The graceful, slender spike presents its long-tubed flowers in opposing rays facing to one side. Each flower is enveloped at the base by an unequal pair of green bracts, sometimes dry by bloomtime. Only the lower three tepals have dark line-markings on their lower halves.
A globose fruit capsule of up to 5 mm in diameter is produced, containing only two seeds (Onderstall, 1996; iNaturalist; JSTOR; https://wildflowernursery.co.za; https://www.pacificbulbsociety.org; https://www.zimbabweflora.co.zw).
