The large, stalked Glottiphyllum longum fruit capsules are initially soft and spongy, pale brown and papery. The fruit has about ten narrow triangular valves over the locules radiating from the centre.
The valves of ripe capsules open when wet. The old fruits tend to persist on the plant, fragmenting slowly (Frandsen, 2017; Smith, et al, 1998; Gledhill, 1981).
