The cluster of Gnidia squarrosa flowers found on almost every stem tip at bloomtime are presented in a compact, shallow dome or umbel.
The four sepals of each flower form a 7 cm long cylindrical tube, ending at the mouth in spreading lobes with rounded tips. Above them the eight obovate petal scales are paired in the gaps between the sepal lobes around the flower mouth (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005).
