Geissorhiza ovata, the pink satin flower, is cormous geophyte that may reach only 6 cm in height, sometimes 15 cm.
The two leaves are broadly oval and leathery, spreading flat on the ground or nearly so.
The plant is found in the Western Cape from the Olifants River to the Cape Peninsula and eastwards to Riversdale.
The habitat is sandstone slopes and flats. The species is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
