Seen from behind, the outer tepals of the Geissorhiza ovata flower in picture have much more of the brick-red colouring than the inner three. The longitudinal lines found on all the tepals continue on the lobes from the long corolla tube that looks angular here. The tube may be 1 cm to 2,7 cm in length.
The elliptic shape of the tepal lobes is well displayed on this flower, the pointed tepal tips curving upwards (Manning, 2007; iSpot).
