The Gymnosporia senegalensis leaves seen here are yellowish green, not blue-green as they may sometimes be. The whitish bloom that may cover their surfaces is also absent.
The alternate leaf arrangement along the thin young branchlets is visible although many leaves have dropped off early. The spines are few here.
The oblong to obovate leaf-shape of the species is in evidence. Leaves taper into their short petioles, while many more rounded than notched tips are to be seen (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Schmidt, et al, 2002).
