After flowering, the Gladiolus floribundus fruit capsules develop under cover of the two bracts that were less conspicuous when the tepals dominated in the flowers. Unequal in size with acutely pointed tips, at least in the case of the taller one, these bracts are dully multicoloured in brownish, faint purple and light green, as well as faintly longitudinally lined.

The three-sided, oblong to ellipsoid capsules are 3 cm to 4 cm long, in picture also erect and wrinkled. The seeds are ovoid with yellow-brown wings.

The flower stem in picture zigzags from fruit to fruit, as well as changing colour (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Goldblatt and Manning, 1998; iNaturalist; https://www.pacificbulbsociety.org).
