The leisurely sprawl of this Gorteria diffusa subsp. diffusa plant has for the moment resulted in an incomplete ring of open flowerheads along the plant perimeter.
The centre is pale green with leaves, some bare stem parts and more flowerheads getting ready to open or fruit.
All plant parts other than the insides of the flowerheads are quite hairy, each according to its type or function. The thin involucral bracts around flowerheads lead in the hair department (Le Roux, et al, 2005; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
