The back view of the Glumicalyx lesuticus inflorescence accentuates the cream of the incurved petal lobes. They are positioned at the tips of the corolla tubes that emerge from the hairy green, brown and reddish mass of sepals and bracts.
The sessile, narrow leaves curve back, their surfaces shiny dark green with red midribs and stubby finger-like marginal teeth, more in the upper parts of the leaves.
The upper stem is dark red, slightly coarse and white-haired, a distinct bend present just before the inflorescence (Springer, 2019: The role of pollinators as ecological drivers of diversification in the Drakensberg Mountain Centre endemic genus Glumicalyx (Scrophulariaceae, Limoselleae), University of the Witwatersrand; iNaturalist; JSTOR).
