The peduncle and individual flower pedicels are redder in this Gasteria brachyphylla var. brachyphylla inflorescence than the salmon pink upper parts of individual flower perianths. Most of the bulging flowers are not open yet, their green and white segment lobe tips still cohering in a single point in each flower.
Flower-shape conforms roughly to the stomach-shape characterising the flowers of the genus. This is recognised in the name Gasteria, derived from the Greek word gaster meaning stomach.
The white, narrowly pointed bracts below every pedicel do not appear dry yet (Frandsen, 2017; Smith, et al, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist; https://pza.sanbi.org).
