The shallowly domed Notobubon galbanum inflorescence consists of a compound umbel on a short peduncle from an upper leaf axil. An inflorescence is made up of many small umbels as its parts, each with small flowers on short, thin pedicels radiating from localised centres, all positioned in one, curved plane.
The yellow or greenish yellow, regularly shaped florets are bisexual. They have five-toothed calyces and five free petals that drop off early. The five stamens alternate with the petals, slightly longer than the petals. The ovary is inferior, the style short and thick.
The elliptic, dry fruits are flattened at the back, narrowly winged along the margins and about 6 mm long (Bean and Johns, 2005; Mustart, et al, 1997; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
