The attraction of Anisodontea julii is in its hibiscus-like pink summer flowers. It also grows quickly, reaches a height of 2 m and makes a good impression with velvety leaves, hairy stems and erect, slender habit.
The leaves are deeply and variably lobed and the edges are serrated. The inner parts of the five petals are lined with darker pink markings. These lines serve as pollen guides to the many insects including butterflies and bees that visit the flowers for nectar and serve to pollinate them (Manning, 2009; www.plantzafrica.com).
