Ficus cordata subsp. cordata leaves

Whitish lateral veins ascend slightly prominently from the midribs on the dark green Ficus cordata subsp. cordata leaves in picture. The veins don’t reach the margins, meandering instead to join each other near the blade edges. The lowest pair of veins emerge from the leaf base in this species.

The long, cylindrical petioles are yellower than the venation, hairless and from 1 cm to 3 cm long (Mannheimer and Curtis, (Ed.), 2009; Coates Palgrave, 2002).
