    Cyanella lutea subsp. rosea stamens

    Cyanella lutea subsp. rosea stamens
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The narrowly oblong anthers of Cyanella lutea subsp. rosea cohere, usually six in all but one of them opposing the finger-like group like a thumb. The yellow anthers are sparsely spotted in dark maroon. They compete in length with the also fleshy, dull white filaments.

The stamens are slightly curved, the anthers in picture appearing twisted near their tips (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007; Moriarty, 1997; Gledhill, 1981; iNaturalist).
