Head-on, the white tepal tips of the Lachenalia suaveolens flower predominate. The narrow, white upper margins of the inner three tepals are slightly wavy and irregularly shaped, the colour merging unevenly into the dark purple part. Both inner and outer tepals curve out slightly at their tips.
The anthers are short and thick, pollinator inviting but down inside the corolla tube (Bond and Goldblatt; iNaturalist).
