Syringodea bifucata flower

The long-tubed flower of Syringodea bifucata grows from the ground, the inferior ovary in the flower base at or just below ground level.

The six obovate, blue-purple tepals with rounded to pointed tips are spread to angled up with darker vein lines visible on their surfaces. The central eye and the inside of the corolla tube are golden yellow.
