Osteospermum moniliferum inland flowering

This spreading Osteospermum moniliferum bush grows and flowers well in the Little Karoo, although not as tall as these plants often become by the sea.

Three of the five subspecies of O. moniliferum in South Africa occur in the Western Cape. Apart from differences among subspecies, plants within each subspecies also display considerable variation (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2009; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
