The simple, oblong and acutely pointed leaves of Eriocephalus grandiflorus are silvery grey from soft, hairy coverings. The leaves grow opposite, soon joined by smaller leaves in their axils, forming fascicles. Leaf dimensions are about 5 mm long and 2 mm wide.
Some brown ray floret remains are visible in the white fluff surrounding each fruit on top of the plant in picture (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
