Up close the broad-tipped, white Hermannia cernua petals spiral and give a hint of flaring the free lateral margin.
The acutely attenuating sepal tips, reddish and coarsely hairy, hold things together at the base, the cup-shaped calyx dully dark green behind.
Pairs of narrow, pointed bracts subtend the petioles that are rigid in their basal parts before the tips that allow the flowers to nod slightly spaced (Shearing and Van Heerden, 2008; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
