The old Hermannia pulverata flowers fade to dull orange or reddish.

The hairy, green bracts at the pedicel bases are triangular and acutely point. Similarly shaped, bigger bracts are present at the peduncle bases.

The coarsely hairy and wrinkled calyces on the flowers in picture are dull purplish red with whitish hairs. The smooth corollas are dark yellow-orange, the dark veins on them and the petal margins orange to red or purplish red (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; JSTOR).
