A well-branched Pachypodium bispinosum plant may present an admired blooming at some stage from late winter to summer.
The first flowers and new, annual leaves appear concurrently on the thick, pale stems. Old plants also branch higher up, losing leaves on lower stem parts.
The photo was taken on the Minwater farm near Oudtshoorn (Frandsen, 2017; Smith, et al, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist).
