Pachypodium bispinosum flower

The flowers of Pachypodium bispinosum grow in small clusters at stem-tips. The five, pointed calyx lobes at the back of each flower are small, divided almost to the base.

The funnel-shaped to bell-shaped corolla cups are pink or purple inside and out. The five, usually round-tipped and spreading corolla lobes are white or nearly so, occasionally longitudinally lined down the centre. Corolla cups are also white on some plants. Flower diameter is about 8 mm.

There are five stamens per flower, each nearly sessile anther having four locules (Frandsen, 2017; Smith, et al, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist).
