    The crown of a mature Pappea capensis tree can be broad as the one in the photo.

    Well represented tree species that occur in many parts of the country and even the southern African region can be expected to vary in physical adaptation to diverse growing and general climatic conditions. This tree was seen near Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Schmidt, et al, 2002; Van Wyk and Van Wyk, 1997; Pooley, 1993; iNaturalist).
