The male Rhodocoma arida plants may allow their numerous, spaced spikelet panicles to droop from the nodes on angled culms.

A few florets are produced in each spikelet. There are cartilaginous bracts as long as the florets. Each floret has six perianth segments and three stamens, the anthers with single locules that open inside the perianth (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist).
