    Moraea ochroleuca, a hard life
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The old Moraea ochroleuca stems tell stories of the trials and tribulations of a seed producing mission. Erect, fairly straight but branched, the inflorescence retains a solitary flower for the photo, accompanied by several fruiting and seeding leftovers of earlier blooms upon the bracted branches. There are also signs of promise, more to come (Marais, (Ed.), 2017; Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; iNaturalist; https://www.fernkloof.org.za).
