Pelargonium elongatum is a multistemmed perennial or a soft shrublet reaching 25 cm to 30 cm in height.
The species distribution is mainly in the Western Cape from Clanwilliam and the Bokkeveld Mountains, extending to the southwest of the Eastern Cape. The photo was taken near Sir Lowry's Pass.
The habitat is flats and lower stony slopes in fynbos and succulent Karoo. The habitat population is deemed of least concern early in the twenty first century (Manning, 2007; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; https://www.fernkloof.org.za; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
