Aeonium sedifolium

Aeonium sedifolium, sometimes commonly called the dwarf aeonium, is a leaf succulent shrublet reaching 40 cm in height. Numerous straight, soft and fleshy branches form a rounded dome-shape in a mature plant. The young stems are often hairy, the lower parts of older stems becoming leafless and smooth. The stems are up to 5 mm in diameter.

This is not a South African plant. It is found on some of the westerly Canary Islands, notably Tenerife, while some species of its genus do occur in North Africa. A. sedifolium grows in nature on very dry cliffs. 

The genus is one of the about 35 genera that make up the Crassulaceae family.
