The Colchicum striatum flowers in picture have aged. Their expanded green ovaries are by now conspicuous. Still, there are stamens resisting their finale, staying on top for the moment. The white bracts cling to floral status, although the striations are not seen.
The opposing radical leaves, those appearing as if directly from the ground, are rigid and channelled, unaffected by the passing of blooms (Pooley, 2008; iNaturalist; https://www.pacificbulbsociety.org).
