The flowers of Delosperma obtusum grow in much-branched inflorescences. There are leaf-like bracts on the pedicels that are from 5 mm to 15 mm long. The five sepals are unequal, of two shapes.
The numerous, narrow petals are glossy, magenta in colour. They angle up and out, growing in about one ring around the flower centre. There may be inner petals or staminodes around the stamens. Flower diameter is about 18 mm.
The stamens are white or creamy. They do not cohere throughout the flowering. There are five nectar glands in the flower base.
Flowering happens from late spring to early autumn and may be abundant in good years (Pooley, 1998; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist).
