While the Satyrium longicauda var. longicauda flowers in this inflorescence are about white, the pointed bracts below the flowers flaunt a faint, pink-purple suffusion in the upper green parts. This colouring is true for both surfaces, seen on the erect bracts still covering buds higher up, as well as the down-folded ones below revealing their open flowers. The bracts are concave on the inside, widening near the folds before tapering to the tips.

The photo was taken near the Sani Pass (Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
