    This Aloiampelos ciliaris stem is pale brown purple with faint longitudinal vein lines in the sheathed areas between the rings of leaf cilia. The white cilia opposite the blades on the stem are here smaller and closer together than those elsewhere on the leaf margins. The veins are not equally distinct in all sections.

    Some A. ciliaris plants have yellow green or green stems, sometimes without visible lines. The leaves mainly ascend or spread, often slightly concave above with unevenness from faint ridges on the generally smooth surfaces (Smith, et al, 2017; iNaturalist).
