The leathery leaves of Protea dracomontana are more oblanceolate than oblong-elliptic. The leaf margins are smooth, pale and cartilaginous, rounded at their tips. Leaf colour is glaucous or blue-green to greyish. The creamy midribs are prominent in the lower blade parts, the negligible petioles partly purple in picture.

Leaf dimensions are 8 cm to 14 cm long and 2,5 cm to 4,5 cm wide (Rebelo, 1995; Rourke, 1980; iNaturalist).
