    Pterygodium dracomontanum flower parts

    Pterygodium dracomontanum flower parts
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

This Pterygodium dracomontanum flower is topped as usual by a median or dorsal sepal. It is rounded like a rough-surfaced, bald head between two over-grown green ears, its lateral petals. They end in pointed tips in front under the "brow". The lateral sepals are positioned lower on the sides, not clearly visible here.

There is a curved-in bract tip from a lower flower in view, seeming to oblige by scratching a lip itch. Not exemplary parade ground behaviour!
