Aristea torulosa flowers with spreading petals

Aristea torulosa flowers with spreading petals
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The flowers of Aristea torulosa grow in small, compact clusters spaced up stems that may sometimes branch. Mostly opening in the morning, the mostly blue flowers don’t last long. There are three stamens with blue filaments and yellow anthers. The stigma lobes at the tips of the blue styles are fringed.

Flower diameter is from 1 cm to 1,5 cm.

Flowering happens from spring to early autumn (Manning, 2009; Germishuizen and Clarke, 2003; Pooley, 1998; Van Wyk and Malan, 1997; iNaturalist).
