This floral abundance is achieved by Helichrysum trilineatum in KwaZulu-Natal montane grassland. In Southern Sotho the plant is known as Hukobetsi.

The rocky slope seems to suit the bushes so well that grass isn’t really getting an innings in their patch. Grey-leaved or green-leaved, (the plant has a curious ambivalence in its leaves), flowering profusely in season happens irrespective of the leaf types, once it gets warmer and through summer (iNaturalist; https://keys.lucidcentral.org; https://www.worldfloraonline.org).
