    Author: Ivan Lätti

The blue grey or blue green, strap-shaped leaves of Kniphofia caulescens grow in a dense basal rosette. (As if the overwhelming mass of foliage in the mature clump of plants can ever be recognised in rosette terms.) The blades are long and channelled, narrowing to their tips. The leaves are V-shaped in cross-section, the lower surfaces ridged keels. The margins are finely toothed. The blades are erect and arching out or bending in their upper halves.

The leaf dimensions are from 45 cm to 70 cm long and from 2,5 cm to 5 cm wide (Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
