    Kniphofia caulescens stems
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The stems on Kniphofia caulescens inflorescences can create impressions of being proud, even haughty. Robustly endowed, they hold their floral treasures high. The long, smooth, cylindrical stems in the photo are purplish brown in shades from light to dark.

The leaves hover more angled or sideways, waving their tips well below the flowers, when there’s wind.

You didn’t know that the Garden of Eden was right here, did you? But the apple tree is over the hill.
