Dark brown Diplosoma retroversum leaves do occur among the older ones. There is no telling what conditions might hit the plant in habitat, the real world, or how it will deal with life issues. Life is never a finite set of options for any person, animal, plant or other organism.

The less green, the slower the photosynthesis and general metabolism, the sum of all chemical reactions that occur within a plant to sustain its life, growth, and reproduction (Frandsen, 2017; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist; https://www.worldfloraonline.org).
