Erica vestita flowers

The slightly flaring mouths of Erica vestita flowers don’t make life difficult for pollinators. The four short, rounded perianth lobes curve out, the perianth segments together lower down, appearing fused.

The yellow anthers look angular, cohering slightly above the level of the perianth lobe curves. The white styles are consistently a little taller, ending in purple-tipped stigmas, the pollen receptive surfaces (Manning and Helme, 2024; iNaturalist; JSTOR).
