Gladiolus saundersii from the side

In profile the Gladiolus saundersii flower shows part of its obliquely funnel-shaped corolla tube that is about 3,5 cm long. The dorsal tepal protrudes furthest forward. The tips of the lower three recurve most. The lower three tepals are attached to the upper laterals in their basal area for about 6 mm.

The narrow, green bracts curve slightly, in picture all in the same direction. The inflorescence is inclined (Pooley, et al, 2025; Manning, 2009; Goldblatt and Manning, 1998; Pooley, 1998; Trauseld, 1969; iNaturalist).
