The Habenaria epipactidea inflorescence seen from above reveals the oblong, striped ovaries angled out from the stem with spurs over them and tipped by the upper surfaces of the dorsal sepals. From below the ovaries the rounded lobe tips of the lateral sepals emerge on the sides. The acutely tipped floral bracts that remain erect among the open flowers, can be seen in the centre of the floral structure right to the top (Pooley, 1998; Lowrey and Wright, 1987; iNaturalist).
