Lampranthus fugitans, sometimes called the remote brightfig, is a creeping, perennial leaf succulent that branches much, its stems smooth.
The species distribution is restricted to a coastal area near the border between KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape, a Pondoland area from Port Edward to Lusikisiki.
The habitat is rocky sandstone outcrops in open grassland and sourveld. The habitat population is deemed vulnerable due to habitat loss from farming, coastal development, poor fire management, alien vegetation spread and more factors (Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
