    The terrain in which one might spot a Lampranthus fugitans plant may look like this. Something of a succulent leaf-mat, the older leaf colours add green and yellow to the grey with red tips, making up for the out of season flower absence. Rock, grass and other groundcovers are what the plants tend to encounter living here (Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist).
