    The buds of Periglossum angustifolium on the back branch of the stem in picture are ribbed, green and barrel-like, also closely clustered although the flowers have pedicels.

    There is a last bud still to open in the front inflorescence where the rounded tips of the opened corollas diverge, and the outer corona lobes inside them converge around the white tips of the staminal columns (Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; https://www.worldfloraonline.org).
