A Periglossum angustifolium flower has a pedicel from 1,2 cm to 3 cm long. The five corolla lobes are free almost to the base, forming a cup-like structure. Its lobes are yellowish inside and brown or red brown outside, the margins rolled out. The lobe dimensions are 7 mm long and 3 mm wide, tapering to the rounded tips.

The coronas are also five-lobed, the lobes of the outer corona slightly shorter than those of the corolla. These outer corona lobes are arrowhead-like or triangular, the inner ones tiny and thread-like. The staminal column arises from the corolla base, white and star-like in the flower centre. The anthers have two locules with appendages bent in over the style head.

The generic name, Periglossum, is derived from the Greek word part peri- meaning around or surrounding and the word glossum derived from glossa meaning tongue, probably referring to the tongue-like shape of the lobes of the corolla or outer corona.

The fruit follicles that follow are narrowly spindle-shaped (Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; https://www.worldfloraonline.org).
